Down a roller - coster, the deafening roar of a million gallons of water matched only by the fury of your heartbeat, crashing across rapids with only a raft, makes White water Rafting one of the most thrilling sports.Alaknanda, Siang,Indus, Teestam, Ganges and a host of other rivers are witness to some of the most daring rafting exploits by our teams. There are several White water Rafting Training Nodal Centres in the army namely ,ANC,Raiwla (6 Mountain Artillery Brigade), ANC, Burdhong(17 Mountain Division),ANC,Along (5 Mountain Grigade) and ANC, Karu, Leh (3 Mountain Division). One more WWR training node is under raising at the Maratha Light Infantary Regimental Centre, Belgaum. Besides Conducting several WWR Expenditions, Army rafters have won National Championship at leh in July 2005 and represented Indian in World Rafting Championship held at Equador, South America in October 2005.
