Yoga Club 

Yoga is an art of keeping mind and body healthy all the time. In the present era of stress and strain both mental and physical, training on yoga may help the young leaders to keep their mind focused and do well even in adverse situation. Keeping the above aim in mind Yoga Club has been introduced in the academy for Gentleman and Lady Cadets.

Archery Club

Archery has got its own historical importance. It was used as the ultimate weapon in olden times. At present it is considered as a thrilling sport. This club is being recently introduced in the academy with a view to encourage the cadets to improve and sharpen their shooting skills.

Boating Club

It is a sport which demands sheer determination , courage, stamina and will power. With increasing popularity of aqua sports all around, the club has been recently introduced and becoming popular amongst the GCs and LCs.

Ecology Club 

Nature has boundless beauty and knowledge in its lap. We need to explore this treasure. Staying and understanding the ecology is refreshing exercise. Keeping this aim in mind this club has been introduced for the GCs and LCs. The club members are getting closer to the local ecological system and taking remedial measures to closer to the local ecological system and taking remedial measures to preserve the flora and fauna of the academy and the surrounding areas.

Creative Writing Club

What qualities, latent or obvious, constitute 'good' writing? How and when pieces of writing qualify for the epithet 'creative'? These are some of the questions that the Club seeks to address. The club also participates wholeheartedly in editing the OTA Journal. The club also produces an excellent piece of literary work ‘ISTHMUS’ in every term to harness the literary skill and creative talent of its members.

Golf Club

The usual enthusiasm of the beginners and the regular presence of the chronic golfers have always kept the golf course busy with activity. The influx of eager and budding golfers with the joining of new arrivals every term has added to its swelling strength. While the junior cadets are busy in learning the rudiments, the seniors constantly try to hone their golfing skills.

Photography Club  

The Camera Club provides the GCs and LCs with the opportunities to learn indoor and outdoor photography, acquire proficiency in developing films, as well as the printing and enlargement of photographs. The club provides the photo coverage for all the important events during the term and also puts up an exhibition at the end of the term.

Electronics Club

The aim of the club is to create an interest in electronics among gentleman and lady cadets and provide them with an opportunity to fabricate projects of hobby value. The members are introduced to circuit components. Explanation of certain basic circuits such as amplifiers, oscillators and detectors is also given to them. The technically qualified members render help and guidance to the non-technical members and hence a better understanding is achieved among the members of the club.

Parasailing Club  

The Parasailing club has been put on track again. Despite teething problems, like weather conditions, lack of training instructors and its proximity to Meenambakkam Airport , the club has been gaining popularity with a greater number of cadets volunteering to join it. Marked with a high sense of adventure, love for excitement, the club is providing its members an opportunity to soar up into the sky and fulfill their dream to fly. The club holds a total of five parachutes presently.

Tennis Club

The tennis club is always agog with activity on every Wednesday. There are two hard courts, providing cadets ample time to learn and improve their game. The club helps a number of beginners to achieve a reasonable standard and graduate them to a level of playing matches with the officers.

Martial Arts Club

'Karate' is a recognized martial art of self-defence all over the world. It demands the highest degree of mental and physical discipline. The club has a qualified and trained instructor, who teaches the members the basic kicks, blows, body feint and hand chops. This club is much in demand because it provides novel techniques  to  sharpen  the  physical  and mental skills of cadets.

Riding Club

Equitation is a club activity in OTA. The cadets are imparted training in fundamentals of horsemanship, advanced horsemanship, advanced training in obstacle courses, tent pegging and elementary jumping. The equestrian section boasts of a complement of 30 horses, 10 polo ponies, four show jumping  and two dressage horses. The credit  for the success of the club goes to tremendous interest and zeal shown by the cadets and uninhibited dedication of the Instructional Staff of the Equitation Section.

Shooting Club

The club provides an opportunity to the cadets to hone their marksmanship skills. The cadets are given adequate practice in firing .22 rifle, 9mm pistol and 9mm silencer carbine. With acquiring of the new skeet machine and arrival of 12 bore ammunition, the sport of skeet shooting has also been introduced. The club members also compete with each other at the short range in pistol firing.Cadets are also given training in Small Arms Training Simulator ( SATS), Reflex Shooting Ranges and Small Arms Range Training Simulator (SARTS) for improving their firing standards and precision shooting.

Music and Dramatics Club

The club has a wide range of musical instruments and it takes care to provide the budding artistes with the rare opportunity to learn both western and oriental music. Besides music, the cadets are encouraged and coached in the art of dramatics which includes group and solo performances like one-act plays, skits, mono acting, pantomime etc. The club members also put up an End of Term Entertainment Programme.

Arts and Sculpture Club 

The arts club provides ample opportunities for amateur artists among the cadets to develop their creative and aesthetic tastes. The club imparts elementary  training  in  the  art  of painting to the beginners; it provides guidance to the students for improving their talent and offers excellent opportunities for specialized training to the bright ones. The club provides facilities for Oil painting, Water colour painting, Oil pastel drawings, Pencil and ink-sketching. The club maintains an art gallery which continues to remain a centre of attraction for all distinguished visitors to the Officers Training Academy .

Driving and Maintenance Club

The Driving and Maintenance Club is functioning as one of the outdoor clubs in the Academy. The cadets are taught not only about driving but also the technicalities of maintaining vehicles.  

Squash Club  

The Squash Club functions in the Ganpathy Squash Court . Here the Gentlemen and Lady cadets hone their playing skills and are provided a fresh window of opportunity to develop their physical and mental stamina.

Rock Climbing Club  

Rock climbing is one of the world’s most thrilling, adventurous and challenging sport. The training in the club introduces the cadets to the various equipments and techniques required in rock climbing. The training also includes the most important requisites for climbing, such as tying of knots, wearing various equipments  that are essential for  rock climbing, various holds and at the end they are educated to utilize the above training for climbing and rappelling.
