Athletics

Nb Sub Anil Kumar represented India in the International Circuit Athletic Meet at Bangalore on 12 Jul 99 and secured 2nd position ( 10.53 Sec) and 1st position ( 21.06 Sec) in 200 mtrs run. He has equaled the 38 years’ old National Record of Mr Milkha Singh. Nb Sub Anil Kumar has been declared as the Services Best Sportsman for the year 1998-99. 5th National Games was held at Imphal from 14 to 25 Feb 99. Sapper Kulwinder Singh obtained a gold Medal in Decathlon event.

Aquatics

54thNational Aquatics Championship 1999-2000 was held at Mumbai from 05 Dec 99 to 10 Dec 99. Bengal Sappers team won two silver and one bronze medal. Spr Yogesh Watve of Bombay Sappers won gold medal in 3 mtr Spring Board Diving event. The individual represented India in the Asian Swimming Championship held at Pusan, South Korea from 28 Mar to 02 Apr 2000.

Nb Sub TA Sujith of Madras Sappers represented India in the Asian Swimming Championships. 11 swimmers and 1 coach of Madras Sappers represented Services in the National Aquatics Championship held at Mumbai from 05 Dec 99 to 10 Dec 99 and won three gold, 11 silver and two bronze medals.

Kayaking & Canoeing

Madras Sappers team participated in 10th Kayaking and Canoeing Championship held at Bhopal from 13 Jan 2000 to 16 Jan 2000 and won six gold, five silver and four bronze medals.

Rowing

22 players and 1 coach of Madras Sappers represented in the 5th Sprint National Rowing Championship held at Calcutta from 06 Jan 2000 to 08 Jan 2000 and won four gold, five silver and one bronze medals

22 players and 1 coach of Madras Sappers represented in the 20th Open National Rowing Championship held at Pune from 24 Feb 2000 and won three gold, two silver and 2 bronze medals.

5th Sprint National Rowing Championship was held at Calcutta from 04 Jan to 08 Jan 2000. Bombay Sappers team participated and won one gold, and two bronze medals.


20th Open National Rowing Championship was held at Pune from 24 Feb to 26 Feb 2000. The Bengal Sappers team participated and won 03 Gold, 02 silver and one bronze medal.

Boxing

14 Junior Boxers of Madras Sappers represented Services in Junior National Boxing championship held at Bangalore from 11 Jan 2000 to 16 Jan 2000. The team won three gold and one bronze medal.

All India Invitational Boxing Championship was held at Sangli wef 13 Feb to 15 Feb 2000. Bombay Sappers won one gold, two silver and two bronze medals.

Hand Ball

3 players of Madras Sappers represented Services in National Handball championship held at Pune from 07 Dec to 12 Dec 2000 and the team secured the gold medal.

 

Weight Lifting

43rd Inter Service Weight Lifting Championship 1999-20000 was held at Bengal Engineer Group and Centre Roorkee from 29 Dec to 02 Jan 2000.  Bengal Sappers won four gold, two silver and one bronze medal. Sub Paramjit Sharma of Bengal Sappers was declared as “Best lifter” in the 43rd Inter Services Weight Lifting Championships.
 

Felicitation Ceremony of Corps of Engrs Sportsmen by Andhra Pradesh Govt. Nb Sub V Santhosh Kumar & Hav Ranga Swamy of Corps of Engineers were felicitated by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Kiran Kumar Reddy at Hyderabad on 10 Jan 2012 for their remarkable contribution in Boxing and Canoeing.

31st Open National Rowing Championship at Hyderabad. Rowers from Corps of Engrs played a major role in the success of the Services team at 31st Open National Rowing Championship at Hyderabad from 13-19 Feb 2012. Out of 27 medals at stake, 21 medals (08 Gold, 07 Silver and 06 Bronze) were won by Services Rowers trained at Army Rowing Node at College of Military Engineering, Pune.

Shooting. Capt Raj Chaudhary, a women offr of Corps of Engrs represented India at Shooting World Cups held at London (England), Milan (Italy) and Munich (Germany) from 15th April 2012 to 29 May 2012.

Olympics 2012.

 

Sub Ignace Tirkey, VSM of Corps of Engrs represented India in Hockey in Olympics 2012. .

Nb Sub K Ravi Kumar, VSM of Corps of Engrs took part in Olympics 2012 in Wt Lifting (69 Kgs).
