Army Medical Corps Centre School
 

The Army Medical Corps (AMC) Centre & School was initially raised in 1920, as the No 8 Company of the Indian Medical Corps (IMC) at Lucknow. After changing its name four times, the establishment was given its present designation in 1969, when the Officer's Training School, Initially raised in 1957 as the Officer's Training Wing, was finally amalgamated with the AMC Centre.

 Role

  • Impart basic military training, in addition to military medical support training, to all medical, dental and nursing officers of the Army, Navy and Air Force, including the non technical officers of AMC.
  • Provide basic military and technical training, special to corps, to all newly enrolled recruits of AMC.
  • Act as Think Tank for AMC in matters pertaining to medical tactics and administration.
  • Provide consultancy services to Armed Forces Medical Services as and when required.
  • Act as an alma mater for medical and dental officers recruited from civil universities.
