Army Service Corps Centre College
 

The Army Service Corps Centre and College came into existence at Bangalore on 01 May 1999 by the amalgamation of three premier institutions of the Indian Army viz ASC School (formerly located at Barely), Army School of Mechanical Transport and ASC Centre (South). The ASC School had been originally raised as Supply and Transport School at Chaklala near Rawalpindi on 05 Aug 1908 and on partition, it moved to Barely.

 

Role

  • To impart tactical and technical training to all ranks of ASC in subjects appropriate to their ranks and appointments.
  • To conduct seminars for senior ASC officers on contracts and provisioning.
  • To impart training to personnel of all arms and services on management of mechanical transport fleets.
  • To keep abreast with current concepts and doctrines and incorporate the same into training at appropriate levels.
  • To impart basic military training to recruits of Supply, Mechanical Transport and tradesmen category and technical training to all recruits of ASC less those of Animal Transport trade.
  • To impart computer training to all ranks including recruits.
  • To conduct up gradation and promotion cadres for various ranks and trades of the Corps.
  • To conduct catering courses for Officers, JCO's and NCOs and up gradation courses for Chefs, (Hospital), Chefs (Mess), Chefs (mess Special) and Stewards.
