Simulator Development Division
 

Simulator Development Division (SDD) was established in the year 1991, at Military College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Secunderabad as a nodal agency to meet vital and urgent need of development of indigenous simulators and to accelerate the pace of induction of the state of the art simulators in the Army. Though the organization is tiny in size, it has been able to make an impact within and outside the Army. In a short span of time, with active sp and valuable inputs from all arms and services, SDD has been able to make impressive progress in the core area of development of simulators. A uniformed team working in R&D environment has the inherent advantages of cost effectiveness , low developed time and develop products engineered to army requirements.      

Role

  • To act as a 'Centre of Excellence' for in-house development of simulators for the Indian Army.
  • Maintain updated Data Bank on simulators available world over.
  • Assist in preparation of qualitative requirements for indigenous simulators development.
  • Coordinate conduct of trials and identify agencies for production of simulators.
  • Maintain close liaison with Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) Public Sector Undertakings and other civil agencies engaged in the development of simulators.
