Junior Leaders Academy (JLA), youngest training institution of Indian Army, Commenced functioning at Goa in Dec 98. It moved to its home at Barely in Aug 99. The Academy aims at training personal below officers rank to become self reliant leaders of men. In modern warfare the junior leaders are the cutting edge of an army and success of any operation depends upon their ability to provide effective leadership at the place of action without looking over the shoulder.
