Lt Gen Jagvinder Singh, VSM



Lt Gen Jagvinder Singh, VSM was commissioned into Remount Veterinary Corps in Oct 1978 and assumed the appointment of 5th Director General Remount Veterinary Services (DG RVS) on 20 Oct 2014. The Gen Officer is alumnus of College of Veterinary Sciences, HAU, Hisar. He holds masters degree in veterinary surgery from the same College. He has attended prestigious course ‘Higher Defence Management Course’ at CDM Secunderabad and did his masters in Management Studies (MMS) from Osmania University, Hyderabad in 2007.

In a sterling military career, spanning over 36 years, the General Officer has tenated various prestigious administrative, logistic and professional appointments. The General Officer possesses tremendous professional experience which includes a tenure of six years as Instructor, Surgery at RVC Centre & College, staff appointments at Dte Gen RVS. He also holds the distinction of commanding over nine RVC units including four major establishments of RVC. Prior to taking over of appointment of DG RVS, the General Officer was Commandant, RVC Centre & College, Meerut Cantt.

The General Officer is fellow of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (India). He is a panel veterinarian, Royal Western India Turf Club approved by Ministry of Agriculture. He was a key member during Olympics held at Atlanta, USA in 1996 as a team veterinarian and is an experienced and noted surgeon.

The General is decorated and is the proud recipient of Vishisht Seva Medal and Army Commander’s Commendation.

The General Officer is a avid golfer and keen sportsman.
