24th Battalion Commander’s Biennial Conference was held from 24 to 26 Nov 2011 at the Centre. Lt Gen KJS Oberoi, AVSM, SM, Commandant Infantry School, Mhow, Colonel of the Regiment presided over the functions and Maj Gen BS Sachar, SM, VSM**, ADGMT, AHQ was in attendance. Apart from discussing the various agenda points concerning the Regiment, the occasion was also marked by Wreath Laying Ceremony, inauguration of the new Quarter Guard, display by the Galley Stallions, Barakhana and various welfare related programmes in the Centre.

Maj Gen BS Sachar, SM, VSM** assumed the Colonelcy of the Punjab Regt on 01 Mar 2012. Lt Gen KJS Oberoi, AVSM, SM handed over the Colonelcy during Spl Sainik Sammelan held on the day.

GOC-IN-C, CENTRAL COMMAND APPRECIATION TO REGT CENTRE

It is a moment of great pride and honour for all rank of the Punjab Regiment that the ‘Alma Mater’ of the Punjab Regiment for the firsttime, post-independence, has beenbestowed with Central Command GOC-in-C’s Appreciation on 15 Jan 2012. It is an historic achievement for the Centre as well as for the Regiment as the award is confered to the Regiment during its 250th years of voyage. It is a apt recognition of relentless hard work, sencerity and dedication displayed by all ranks at the Centre.
