1.     Awarded for such individual acts of exceptional devotion to duty or courage as have special significance for the Navy. Awards may be made posthumously.

2.     A bar shall be given for every subsequent award of the medal to a person.

3.     All ranks of the Navy.

4.     Rs 250/- pm and each bar to the medal Rs 250/- pm to all Nao Sena Medal (Gallantry) awardees.
