Awarded to personnel for services rendered outside India and for such periods as may be recognised by the Government for the purposes of this award and which has not been considered for any other Indian Medal. Awards may be made posthumously.
An individual qualifying for the medal for the first time shall be awarded the medal, together with a clasp on which shall be inscribed the place where the service was rendered. On all subsequent occasions when the award is made only a clasp indicating the place where the service was rendered will be awarded.
Commissioned Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, Other Ranks and Non-Combatants (enrolled) of the regular Army, embodied Auxiliary and Reserve Forces or any other lawfully constituted Armed Forces.
Nursing Officers and other members of Nursing Services in the Armed forces.
Clasps
These shall consist of bars 32mm long with a frosted background and burnished borders. Each clasp shall have inscribed on it in raised and burnished characters in Hindi, the name of the place for service for which it has been awarded.
