Level of performance will be judged in following order :-

(a) Position in Olympics/World Cup.

How are the names of martyrs screened prior to their inception on war memorials?

Screening Committee will assemble at 1 EME Centre every 6 months during Jan and Jul to review cases of battle cas. Recommendation of Screening Committee will be submitted to Addl DGEME (P&A). Names will be inscribed on War Memorials after approval by Addl DGEME (P&A).

What scholarship awards are entitled to the children of EME pers who excel in studies? Are officers’ children entitled for scholarship awards ?

Scholarships are awarded to children of JCOs/OR based on their performance in their X and XII board examination conducted during the year. Officers’ children are not entitled for scholarship awards.

What is the procedure for grant of scholarship awards ?

Applications to be submitted by individuals together will supporting mark sheets/docus duly verified to reach Dte Gen of EME (Coord) by 31 Aug each year. Bd of offrs will be convened to make selections for the award purely on merit basis.

Loans can be sanctioned only to serving pers under following distress :-

(a) Loss of immovable property due to natural calamity.

(b) For medical treatment.

What are the norms for admission of children of JCOs/OR in EME War Memorial hostels?

Parents/guardians will apply for admission of their wards in either of Boys Hostels located at Secunderabad or Bhopal alongwith following docus :-

(a) Indemnity Bond.

(b) Certificate of treatment at MH.

(d) Particulars of children of Battle cas / Attributable cases, if applicable.

(e) Medical certificate from nearest MH/MI Room of respective EME Centre .

Girls can not be admitted in EME War Memorial Hostels.

EME JCOs/OR proceeding on retirement are presented with a Corps Memento,Whose responsibility is it to present the memento and how is the cost of emento met?

It is the responsibility of the last unit served to present the memento. The cost is to be home by the units from their Regimental Funds. Pers serving with UROs/LRWs are also to be presented with the mementos by the maint wksp/affiliated EME Bn who will bear the cost. However, individuals retiring form non EME units which do not come under any fmn EME such as NDA, CDM, OTA, GREF, NCC etc will be presented with the memento by EME Depot Bn and the cost will be met from EME RA Fund.

What is the source for procurement of EME Corps Mementos?

Mementos are centrally fabricated under arrangements of 509 Army Base Wksp and should be procured through them.

Is an EME pers proceeding on premature retirement after completion of pensionable service entitled for the Corps Memento free of cost?

Yes.

An EME pers proceeds on premature retirement without completing penionable service but is desirous of procuring the Corps Memento. What procedure should be adopted?

Individual to be presented with the memento after recovering 50 per cent of the cost.

An EME pers posted on ERE assignment with URO/LRW proceeds on etirement. Whose responsibility is it to present the Corps Memento?

It is the responsibility of the maint wksp/affiliated EME Bn to present the memento and bear the cost from their Regimental Funds.

Under what circumstances can the Corps Memento be presented by EME Depot Bn and who should bear the cost?

Pers retiring from non EME units which do not come under any fmn EME such as NDA, IMA, OTA, NCC, GREF, TA, Assam Rif are to be presented with the memento by EME Depot Bn. The cost will be met from EME RA Fund.

What facilities can be provided to family members escorting patients suffering with chronic ailments such as TB, Leprosy and Cancer and admitted in INHS, Ashvini/Command Hospital, Pune where treatment for such ailments is feasible?

(a) Boarding and lodging.

(b) Cost of medicines and tests which are not reimbursable.

(d) Funeral expenses in case of death.

What events are organised to welcome newly commissioned officers into Corps of EME passing out from OTA, Chennai and IMA, Dehradun?

All newly commissioned officers will be invited for an ‘At Home’ function at 614 EME Bn/Station Wksp EME Chennai/MCEME. A DO letter from DG EME will be handed over to each officer. The function will be attended by a Col Comdt/Senior EME Officer. All newly commissioned officers will be presented with EME Corps accoutrements.

What are the charter of duties of Mother Units?

Charter of duties of mother units towards performing their role, towards serving pers, towards retired pers and towards widows are laid down in Corps Instr No WEL 03.

How are the records of personnel settled in the jurisdiction of a mother unit kept updated?

Initial demographic data has been provided by EME Records to the mother units in respect of JCO’s/OR and by HQ EME RA in case of offrs. Data on new inductees in case of recruits is provided by respective Centres and by HQ EME RA in case of newly commissioned offrs. Info with regard to death of individuals should be obtained by the mother units through liaison with fellow individuals/NOKs and during visits. Based on the above, it is the responsibility of mother units to keep the data updated.

Can an EME pers ask for the EME Corps Band to perform during his own marriage or the marriage of his son/daughter? What conditions apply?

Officers of the Corps of EME may ask for the EME Corps Bands to perform during their own marriage/marriage of their children at Secunderabad/Bhopal or at any out station where the band may be on duty subject to availability of band. The charges for the performance of the band are to be borne by the officers.

Can EME units seek loans from EME RA for carrying out improvements in their Regimental Institutions? Who all can sanction the loans to EME units and for what amount? What interest rates will be charged and what is the maximum number of monthly installments for repayment of loans?

Yes. Loans can be sanctioned as per financial powers given below :-

(a) DG EME/President EME RA Rs 2,00,000/-

(b) Comdt MCEME (Chaiman EME RA) Rs 1,00,000/-

(d) MGsEME Comds/Cdr HQ TG/Cdr HQ Base Wksp Gp Rs 30,000/-

Interest rate will be 2 per cent higher than the fixed deposit interest rate of SBI applicable for a deposit of term of 1 year to 2 years. Maximum number of installments for repayment of loan is 30 monthly installments.

Are officers entitled for cash incentives from EME RA on being conferred with various honours and awards?

What benefits are entitled to EME units under new raising from EME RA? What procedure should be adopted by the units under raising for seeking financial assistance from EME RA?

Grants from EME RA are entitled to new units under raising towards welfare of troops, starting Officers Messes and JCOs Messes/clubs based on their strength. Newly raised units should initiate a statement of case through departmental channel seeking funds as per scale laid down based on their strength. Copies of sanction accorded by the General Staff for the new raising as well as permission accorded for setting up new Offrs Mess/ JCOs Mess/Club must be enclosed with the S of C. The S of C must be fwd to Dte Gen of EME (Coord) who will undertake a staff check before according sanction to release the funds by HQ EME RA.
