As Junior Commissioned Officers

-   Should have previously served as Junior Commissioned Officer/equivalent ranks in Navy/AF. Navy/AF. Minimum  03 years embodied service +07 ATCs for JCOs of Territorial Army.

-   Should be below 50 years of age for Naib Subedar and Subedar and below 52 years of age for Subedar Major. 

-   Should possess Army Third Class English and Army First Class Certificate of Education or Matriculation.

-   Should have been assessed for Character at the time of discharge from former service not below "Exemplary".

-   Should be in Medical Category SHAPE-1.

   -   Date of re-employment should be within five years from date of retirement from former service.

As Other Ranks

-   Should have minimum 5 years colour service. Minimum 03 years embodied service and 7 ATCs for personnel of Territorial Army.

-   Should be below 48 years of age for GD and 50 years of age for clk (SD). 

-   Should possess Army Third Class Certificate of Education or equivalent.

-   Should have been assessed for Character at the time of discharge from former service not below "Very Good".

-   Should not have more than one red ink entry in the last five years of service and not more than two red ink entry in their service.

-   Should be in medical category SHAPE-1.

   -   Date of re-employment should be within 5 years of retirement from former service.
