TEMPLE OF REMEMBRANCE

TEMPLE OF REMEMBRANCE

The Temple of Remembrance is a hallowed and sacred monument honouring those brave Young Officers of the Academy who laid down their lives, in the defence of the Motherland without seeking fame, fortune or reward. It is set on a terraced lawn against the backdrop of P Hill the highest feature in OTA.

The Academy has, to date, commissioned more than 27,000 officers into the Army. Of them, many have made the supreme sacrifice in the discharge of their duties. It is these young men, who have built up, year after year, with their blood and fiery spirits, the real and enduring traditions of the Academy. This ‘Temple of Remembrance’ emphasis their spirits with their hallowed names inscribed in golden letters on the black granite walls.

In this sacred place, Passing out Officer Cadets and Officers of the Academy assemble in a solemn ceremony to pay homage to our heroes and reaffirm our commitment to the OTA, the Indian Army and our great Country India.
