The Discipline and Vigilance Directorate is concerned with the processing of disciplinary and vigilance cases pertaining to persons subject to the Army Act, requiring orders/directions from the COAS / Central Govt , and policy relating to discipline and vigilance in the Army.  Discipline and Vigilance cases in respect of officers posted to Army Headquarters or Inter Service Organizations are dealt with by the Delhi Area (under HQ Western Command) and reference in these cases will by made to Discipline and Vigilance Directorate at the appropriate stage only where necessary.  The Dte is also responsible for processing cases of Human Rights Violations with NHRC through MoD.
