Conditions of Eligibility

Awarded for individual acts of gallantry or distinguished service or devotion to duty performed in operational or non operational areas which are not of a sufficiently high order to qualify for a higher award.

Eligible categories

All ranks of the Army and civilian personnel working at the Army headquarters, Organizations of the Army which do not fall under the purview of any Command Headquarters and personnel of Units and other Central/State Organisations working directly under the Army Headquarter shall be eligible for this award.
